Biographical Note

Dr. John Campbell came from academe (four degrees in Social Sciences) and returned to academe, teaching International Affairs or directing programs abroad for California State Universities, University of Maryland and Southern Methodist University after a decade and a half with the Defense Department, State Department and US Information Agency. In Vietnam after a tour as Psychological Operations Advisor to five provinces he returned and initiated the nationwide "Van Tac Vu" propaganda through entertainment program with fifteen Vietnamese teams gaining the Agencies "Superior Honor Award." This program preceded the pacification effort by six months being the first attempt to operate in the rural area beyond the security of province capitals. He currently divides his active retirement between Spain and California.
