The Willis F. Marshall collection consists of Photograph/slide descriptions; Viet Cong merit certificate; North Vietnamese money; Viet Cong documents and propaganda; Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) newspaper; Tips on Viet Cong/ North Vietnamese Army mines and booby traps; Fifth Infantry Division Mess Card; Pacific Stars and Stripes newspaper: Military Assistance Command Vietnam Orientation Edition (MACV), Summer-Fall 1968; & Tour 365: USARV Returnee Magazine, Spring-Summer 1968. Also included is Lam Son, an ARVN 5th Infantry Division newsletter from February 1968, Viet Cong Document from August 1968, III Corps Advisor newsletter from January 1, 1968.

Biographical Note

Willis F. Marshall voluntarily served in Vietnam from October 1967 to October 1968 as a member of the 525th MI Group. He was assigned to Military Assistance Command Vietnam (MACV) Advisory Team 70 and was based at Gosney Compound in Lam Son, Binh Duong Province in III Corps. Marshall served as an advisor to the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) 5th Infantry Division Headquarters. He received training as an intelligence analyst at Ft. Holabird, Maryland and also received 47 weeks of Vietnamese language training at DLI, Biggs Field, Texas.
