Scope and Content

86 slides document Michael Morea's Forward Air Controller training in Florida in late 1965 and his service in Vietnam, February 1966 - February 1967.

Biographical Note

Michael J. Morea attended the Air Ground Operations School (AGOS) and O-1 Forward Air Controller (FAC) training at Hurlburt Field, Holly Field, and Elgin Air Force Base, Florida, in 1965. Morea was sent to Vietnam in February 1966. From then until March 1966, Morea was stationed as a Provincial FAC with the US Advisory Detachment at Duc Hoa in Hua Nghai Province. From mid-March to late April 1966, he served as a Provincial FAC with a US Advisory Detachment at Tan An in Long An Province. Morea spent the rest of his tour in Vietnam, May 1966 to February 1967, with the Vietnamese Airborne Division (Su Doan Nhay Du) as a Red Marker FAC.
