Scope & Content:

  • Slides, photographs, DVD and documents that document Colonel Pat Clifton's service in Vietnam from September 1967 through September 1968.

Biographical Note:

  • Colonel Pat Clifton, USAF (Ret.) served in Vietnam from September 1967-September 1968 as a Captain and was Officer in Charge of a Photographic Interpretation Team. Pat Clifton graduated from Oklahoma State University and received his commission in 1964. From September to December 1967 Captain Clifton served with the 6470th RTC, transferring to the 460th Reconnaissance Technical Squadron where he served until September 1968. While in Vietnam, Captain Clifton participated in Operation Niagara, Tet 1968 and the May Offensive of 1968. While in Vietnam, Clifton received two Bronze Stars, Presidential Unit Citation with a "V" (with the 460th RTW), Air Force Outstanding Unit Achievement Award (with the 460th TRW), Vietnam Service Medal with three stars and two Republic of Vietnam medals.
