  • Book excerpt from a book on the North Vietnamese 304th division translated from Vietnamese to English.

Biographical Note:

  • Steve Jones served in the Vietnam War as a Warrant Officer helicopter pilot with A Troop, 3/17th Cavalry from late 1968 until February 1969, operating North of Saigon in Di An. He then transferred to B Troop, 2/17th Cavalry, stationed at Camp Eagle near Hue. Jones' tour of duty ended in May 1969 when his helicopter was shot down during Operation Apache Snow in the A Shau Valley. Jones is currently interested in researching and writing about the Vietnam War and lives in Nha Trang with his Vietnamese wife.
