Photocopied story and short biography document Colonel Edward Charles Robinson's career in the United States Army from 1959 to 1983, particularly his service in Vietnam as a Captain with B Company, 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Air Cavalry Division from 1965 to 1966 and as a Major with 11th Combat Aviation Battalion, 1st Aviation Brigade from 1968 to 1969.

Edward Charles Robinson was born in May 1937. After graduating from high school in 1955 he entered the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, graduating in 1959. In 1965 Robinson was assigned to B Company, 229th Assault Helicopter GBattalion, 1st Air Cavalry Division and deployed to Vietnam. From September 1965 through July 1966, Robinson participated in air assault operations of the 1st Air Cavalry Division, inluding the Ia Drang Valley Campaign. Then Major Robinson returned to Vietnam in 1968, during the North Vietnamese Tet Offensive with the First Aviation Brigade. During his two tours of duty in VIetnam, Robinson received a Distinguished Flying Cross, two Bronze Stars, 24 Air Medals, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with palm device, 2 Meritorious Unit Citations, the Presidential Unit Citation and the Vietnamese Service Ribbon with 8 campaing (battle) stars. Colonel Robinson retired from the Army in 1983.
