Scope and Content

Over two linear feet of a 5" 54 shell and fuse cap from the last round fired from the USS Joseph Strauss under the command of Lawrence Layman.

Biographical Note

Lawrence Layman was commanding officer of the USS Joseph Strauss from July 1967 to August 1969 while holding the rank of Commander. He retired fromthe United States Navy with the rank of Rear Admiral.
