Scope & Content:

  • One tribute display documents the military service and life of Lee Roy Herron. The display was created by Jeff Whitley and Jeff McClain for the 2005 Lee Roy Herron Scholarship reception at Texas Tech University. One linear foot of dress uniforms, caps, buttons, and other insignia pins document Lee Roy Herron's service as the Executive Officer of Company A, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division.

Biographical Note:

  • Lee Roy Herron served as the Executirve Office of Company A, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division from December 1968 until his death on 22 February 1969.
