Scope & Content:

  • Five photographs of the Plain of Jars in Laos taken by Chauncey J. Collard in 1972.

Biographical Note:

  • Chauncey J. Collard was born in April of 1920. He volunteered for World War II from 1937-41 and from 1942-47 totalling 8.2 years with the United States Navy. Collard also served with the Air America Association in Southeast Asia from 1965-75 for a total of 9.6 years. During the Vietnam War he held the positions of Captain and Assistant Chief Pilot (Helicopters). He was stationed in Saigon, Vietnam and UDorn, Thailand for the duration of his time in Southeast Asia. Collard maintained the rank of Captain throughout his service in Southeast Asia. No further information was provided.
