Scope & Content:

  • Less than one linear foot of military administrative documents, photographs, Dog Tags, two P-38 can openers and two CDs document Dennis Pelliccia's tour of duty in Vietnam with the 174th Assault Helicopter Company, July 1967-July 1968.

Biographical Note:

  • Dennis Salvatore Pelliccia was born in a Bronx hospital in New York. In December 1966, he volunteered for the United States Army and served for a total of three years with one year in Southeast Asia. During his service, Pelliccia served with the 174th Assault Helicopter Company in the 409tc Detachment from July 1967 to February 1968. From there he stayed within the 174th and served with the First Flight Platoon from February 1968 to July 1968. After that year of service he was moved back to the states to serve with ARAD COM (ARmy Air Defense COMmand) at Stewert Air Force Base in Neburgh, New York from August 1968 to September 1969. Finally, his fourth and last assignment was a rather short stay with the 52nd Artillery Brigade at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, New York from September to October 1969. With the 174th, he worked as both a Helicopter Mechanic with the 409tc and a Crew Chief with the 1st Flight Platoon. While in Souteast Asia, Pelliccia was stationed in Duc Pho and maintained the ranks of E-3 to E-4. No further information provided.
