Scope & Content:

  • Three CDs contain images taken by Jerry Sifert during his tour of duty in Vietnam in 1967 to include Base Camp Bear Cat and the 9th Infantry Division during Operation Coronado.

Biographical Note:

  • Jerry Sifert was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1945. In May 1966, he was drafted into the United States Army. Sifert service two years of service with one of those years in Vietnam. While in Vietnam, he was assigned to Delta Battery 1/184th of the 9th Division from 1966 to 1967 then 3rd Battalion 34th Artillery from 1967 till his discharge that May. At the time of his discharge from the Army, he had reached the rank of Specialist.
