Biographical Note:

  • Stephen Forcade was born in 1949 in Beloit, Kansas. He volunteered for the United States Army in 1967. Forcade did a total of six and half years of active duty service with two tours in Southeast Asia. While in Southeast Asia he was assigned to Company B, 4th BN, 39th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division from October 1967 through October 1968 and Mobile Advisory Team 20, Hau Nghia Province 1971 to 1972. During the Vietnam War Forcade held different positions including Infantryman, Heavy Weapon Specialist, and Infantry and Intelligence Advisor. He was stationed at Bear Cat, Dong Tam, Tan Tru, Hau Nghia Province, and Bao Trai. Forcade participated in TeT 1968 and Easter Offensive 1972 campaigns. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with ā€œVā€ device, Air Medal, and Combat Infantry Badge. He left the army in 1973 at the rank of E-6, Staff Sergeant. Currently he is an active member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and Disable American Veterans. After the military, Forcade worked for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service until his retirement.
