Scope & Content:

  • Approximately half a linear foot of slides and photographs document Garry Gitzen's service in Vietnam with the 665th Transportation Detachment of the 361st Aviation Company, April 1968 - April 1969.

Biographical Note:

  • Garry Gitzen was born in 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was drafted into the Army in 1967 and served 1 year, 10 months. He was assigned to the 361st Aviation/665th Transportation as a records clerk and served 1 year in Di An and Pleiku, Vietnam. Mr. Gitzen held the ranks of E4 and E5 during his service in Vietnam and was awarded the VN Service Medal. He was discharged from the Army as an E5 on April 6, 1969. After his service, Mr. Gitzen attended college and earned an MA in Business Administration.
