Book titled 'LURPS: A Ranger's Diary of Tet, Khe Sanh, A Shau, and Quang Tri' by Robert Ankony discusses his service as a U.S. Army Ranger in the Vietnam War, 1967-1968.

Biographical Note

Robert Ankony grew up in southwest Detroit and joined the United States Army at the age of 17 in October 1965. From November 1967 through September 1968 he served in Vietnam as a LRRP Ranger with the 1st Cavalry Division. After his Vietnam service, Ankony earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, a Master of Correctional Sciences from the University of Detroit, and an MA, MS, and PhD in Criminology from Wayne State University.
