Scope & Content:

  • Helicopter pilot helmet worn by CW02 Bruce Peters during his tour in Vietnam with the 173rd Assault Helicopter Company in Lai Khe donated by his son Shane Peters.

Biographical Note:

  • Bruce Peters was born in 1945. He volunteered to the U. S. Army in 1966. Peters served one year in Vietnam of his four years of military service. He served with the 'Robin hoods,' 173rd Assault Helicopter Company (AHC), from 1967 to 1968. While he was stationed in Lai Khe, Vietnam, Peters was ranked Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CWO2), was designated as a Helicopter Pilot, Gunship Pilot, Instructor Pilot, and participated in the TET Offensive. Peters was honorably discharged in 1970.
