Orders, awards, and other military administrative papers document Felix Ray Knight, Jr.'s service with D Troop 1/1 Cavalry, 101st Airborne Brigade from July 1968 to April 1969 and B Troop 2/17 Cavalry, 101st Airborne Brigade from April 1969 to July 1969.

The objective of the B Troop 2nd 17th Cavalry Association is to preserve the memory, history and honor of those who served with B Troop 2nd 17th Cavalry, 101st Airborne Division before, during, and after the Vietnam War. The Association is active in promoting the research, dissemination and preservation of information concerning Association members and assist members in locating others with whom they served. B Troop 2nd / 17th Cavalry Association is exempt from taxation under IRC 501 (c) (19).

Felix Ray Knight, Jr. served with D Troop 1/1 Cavalry, 101st Airborne Brigade from July 1968 to April 1969. He then served with B Troop 2/17 Cavalry, 101st Airborne Brigade from April 1969 to July 1969. Knight was a UH-1C pilot and participated in Operation Apache Snow.
