(USA) Jackie V. Wright, originally from Jefferson County, Oklahoma served in the U.S. Army from 1960 until 1980. After graduating from Midwestern State University in 1960, where he completed the Army ROTC program, he underwent training at Ft. Benning (GA), Ft. Rucker (AL), and Ft. Riley (KS) and did a three year tour in Germany between 1963 and 1966 with the 3rd Army Division. Jack went to Vietnam in November 1967 as a MACV Advisor, Advisory Team 83, in Hoa Dong District, Go Cong Province. He rotated back to the U.S. in September 1968 and directed the Junior Army ROTC program at the Army and Navy Academy, 6th Army, in Carlsbad, CA until the summer of 1971 when he went back to Vietnam. In his second tour, Jack worked in the U.S. Army Vietnam (USARV) Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics in the Retrograde Division. In the summer of 1972, Jack rotated back to the U.S. and was stationed at Ft. Campbell (KY) and Ft. Sill (OK) before retiring in 1980 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Interview conducted by Richard B.
