Description:
(USA) James ('Jim') B. Evans was born in Fort Worth TX in 1943. He attended Texas Christian University and Southwestern Medical School, earning an MD degree in 1968. He was drafted that year, attended Basic Training at Fort Sam Houston TX, and was commissioned in the Army in January 1969. In Vietnam, Jim served as a battalion medical officer with the 1/77 Armored Battalion and 1/5 Infantry Brigade (Mechanized) at Quang Tri, November 1969-June 1970, and with the 91st Evac Hospital at Chu Lai, June-October 1970. Jim also spent two weeks TDY with the Americal Division at Kham Duc. After leaving Vietnam he worked at the Sandia Army Hospital in Albuquerque NM until September 1971. Jim practiced medicine in the Fort Worth-Dallas area until his retirement in 2002.
