Honors For German Victims of VC - Vietnamese Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Tang Kim Dong, pins the Vietnamese Order of Merit on the caskets of four German civilian medical personnel murdered at Hue by the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army during their February TET offensive. The ceremony was held at Saigon's Tan Son Nhut airport as the bodies were awaiting shipment to West Germany. The German medical team - all volunteers - professor Alois Altekeestar, professor of general medicine; Horst Krainer, professor of pediatrics; and his wife, Elizabeth; and, Raimund Discar, professor of internal medicine, were working with the faculty of the University of Hue when assassinated by the communists. Their bodies were discovered in a shallow grave about one-half kilometer south of Hue on April 5. During the ceremony at the airport, students from the University of Hue cried openly along with hundreds of other Vietnamese in attendance. In the background is Tran Luu Cung, Vice-Minister of Edu
