Description:
Iroquois helicopters of No. 9 Squadron (RAAF) prepare to land and pick-up Vietnamese Government soldiers (ARVN), near the Australian fortified position known as the Horseshoe in Phuoc Tuy Province, South Vietnam. The Vietnamese from the 3rd Battalion, 52nd Regiment of the 18th ARVN Division were off on a five-day operation with elements of D Company 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment. "Delta" Company had been retraining the 400-strong 3rd Battalion at the Horseshoe and the operation named Quyet Thang, Vietnamese for "we strive for victory," gave the Vietnamese a chance to put into practice what they had learnt from the Australians.
