(USA) Pat Curry, originally from Temple, Texas, served in the U.S. Army from 1966 until 1991 and retired a Lieutenant Colonel. Pat served in South Vietnam with the HHC 1/5 Cavalry, 1st Cav Division between November 1968 and April 1969 in Tay Ninh, at LZ Dolly, and other areas as a Logistics and Administrative Officer and Company Executive Officer, and with B Co., 27th Maintenance Battalion, 1st Cav Division, from April to October 1969 as a Logistics Company Commander at Quan Loi (LZ Andy). Pat retired in 1991 as a Lieutenant Colonel after a long and distinguished career including assignments in the Pentagon, as Commander of a maintenance battalion in Germany, and in Berlin as Chief Logistics Officer for U.S. Forces Berlin. Description:
In this interview Col. Lawrence Dacunto describes his two tours of duty in Vietnam. Dacunto's first tour of duty took place from March of 1966 until March of 1967. During this tour, Dacunto served as a Lieutenant with the 1st Battalion of the 503rd Infantry Regiment of the 173rd Airborne. During his second tour, which lasted from July of 1969 until June of 1970, Dacunto first served as an advisor to ARVN 1st Airborne Battalion and later as the III Corps Operations Analyst with MACV.

(USA) Van Michael Davidson, originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971 and from 1974 to 1981 and in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1971 to 1973 and again from 1981 until 1996. In South Vietnam, Mike served as an Advisor to the ARVN 9th Armor Division in July 1970 and then as IV Corps Information Officer for MACV in Can Tho from July 1970 until June 1971. He returned to the U.S. in 1971 and went on to obtain a law degree from the University of Mississippi and practice law for the U.S. Army and in the private sector. Interview conducted by Richard B. (USA) Don Halsey enlisted in the United States Army in April 1970 and spent the next year in Vietnam. He served in counter intelligence and participated in the Phoenix Program, a program intent on eliminating the Viet Cong political apparatus. Halsey describes the general living conditions, his duties, Vietnamese intelligence, his observations on both Australian and South Vietnamese soldiers, the drug problem, medical facilities, landmines, and race relations. He also discusses the problems with snakes, R&R and his relations with the South Vietnamese people. Finally, Halsey examines the effects of the anti-war movement on the soldier's morale and the adjustment of returning home after the conflict. Interview conducted by Edwin Whiting.

(Civilian) Pauline Laurent was born in Illinois in 1945 and graduated from Red Bud High School in 1963. She studied at Southern Illinois University and in 1967 married Sgt. Howard E. Querry IV. Howard had enlisted in the US Army in 1966, completed Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood MO and Advanced at Ft. Ord CA. He attended Officer Candidate School and the Non-Commissioned Officer academy at Ft Benning GA, and served at Ft Jackson SC before being stationed in Vietnam in March 1968. Howard served with Co A, 3rd Battalion, 39th Infantry of the 9th Infantry Division, and was killed in action on May 10, 1968 near Saigon. Pauline and Howard's daughter, Michelle, was born in July 1968. As a single mother and widow, Pauline coped with the loss of her husband by developing a grief counseling practice.

(USA) William ('Bill') Laurie was born in 1945 in Highland Park IL, and graduated from Waukegon High School in 1963. He studied political science at Arizona State University where he was in the Army ROTC. Bill completed Infantry Officer Basic Training at Ft Benning GA, and after intelligence and Vietnamese language training he arrived in Vietnam in October 1971. Bill served with MACV Headwuarters until October 1972 as an intelligence analyst and ARVN liaison officer, with several TDY assignments in the Delta. In 1973 he returned to Vietnam as an analyst with the US Defense Attache's Office in Saigon. He remained in VIetnam until April 1975, when he assisted with the evacuation of American and South Vietnamese personnel. Bill remains active as a writer on the Vietnam war.

In this interview Col. William E. LeGro describes his military career, which spanned from 1943 until 1977. Entering the military in 1943 as an enlisted soldier, LeGro served in the pacific duringWorld War II and left the military in 1945. In 1949, LeGro returned to the Army as an officer and retired with the rank of Colonel in 1977. During his career in the Army, LeGro served two tours in Vietnam: the first as a G2 with the First Infantry Division from March of 1966 until March of 1967, the second with the Defense Attache Office (DAO) in Saigon, from February of 1973 until the fall of Saigon in April of 1975.

(USN) Bill McCollum, originally from New York City, New York served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 until 1969. He went to Vietnam in August 1968 and served as an engineman aboard an Armored Troop Carrier (ATC) with Task Force 117, River Assault Division 111 near Dong Tham in the Mekong Delta. There he took part in Operation MARKET TIME and also witnessed the mining of the USS Westchester County on the night of November 1, 1968. In June 1969, Bill went to Da Nang and served as an engine repairman in Naval Support. He left Vietnam in July 1969.

(USA) Lloyd Ramsey was born in Somerset, Kentucky, in 1918. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in July 1940 and retired a Major General in August 1974. During his long and distinguished career Lloyd served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. In Vietnam he served as Deputy Commanding General, Headquarters, 1st Logistical Command, December 1968-June 1969, and Commanding General, 23rd Infantry Division (Americal).

(USA) Antoine E. Roy, originally from Gardner, Massachusetts served in the U.S. Army from 1966 until 1969 and served three tours in Vietnam between 1967 and 1969. Andy first went to Vietnam in April 1967 as a member of C Company, 4th Battalion, 503rd Parachute Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade. In June 1968, he joined C Co. in the 227th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division and served as a helicopter door gunner. In his third tour, which began in January 1969, he served with D Co., 1st Battalion, 327th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne, Aircavalry Division. Andy participated in numerous campaigns at Dak To, Tuy Hoa, in the A Shau Valley, in the 1968 Tet Offensive, operations around the Laotian and Cambodian borders, and in SOG support in Laos before leaving Vietnam in July 1969. Col. Donald Seibert (U.S. Army, Ret.) discusses his experiences during multiple tours of duty in South Vietnam. Seibert served as Deputy Senior Advisor to the 25th ARVN Division in 1965, as Senior Advisor in the 24th Special Tactical Zone near Pleiku, and as commander of the 1st Brigade, 9th Infantry Division, in 1967. Seibert returned to duty in Vietnam in 1969, serving as operations officer in Natrang and as chief-of-staff of the 101st Airborne Division.

In this interview, Lynn Stephens discusses his two tours of duty in South Vietnam. During his first tour, Stephens served as a helicopter pilot with the 9th Aviation Battalion, 9th Infantry Division, November 1967-November 1968. Stephens returned for a second tour in March 1972, serving as an assault helicopter pilot with the 60th Assault Helicopter Company, and later with Headquarters, 1st Aviation Brigade until returning to the U.S. in March 1973.

(USA) James P. Wheeler, Jr., originally from Nashville, Tennessee served in the U.S. Army from 1963 until 1984. Jim served two tours in South Vietnam. He first went to the RVN in March 1967 and served until March 1968 with the 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division as a platoon leader. Jim went back to the RVN in July 1969 and served six months with 3rd Brigade, 4th ID and six months as XO of Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry, 4th ID. He retired a Colonel from the U.S. Army in 1984. Interview conducted by Richard B. Verrone, Ph.D.

(USA) Jackie V. Wright, originally from Jefferson County, Oklahoma served in the U.S. Army from 1960 until 1980. After graduating from Midwestern State University in 1960, where he completed the Army ROTC program, he underwent training at Ft. Benning (GA), Ft. Rucker (AL), and Ft. Riley (KS) and did a three year tour in Germany between 1963 and 1966 with the 3rd Army Division. Jack went to Vietnam in November 1967 as a MACV Advisor, Advisory Team 83, in Hoa Dong District, Go Cong Province. He rotated back to the U.S. in September 1968 and directed the Junior Army ROTC program at the Army and Navy Academy, 6th Army, in Carlsbad, CA until the summer of 1971 when he went back to Vietnam. In his second tour, Jack worked in the U.S. Army Vietnam (USARV) Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics in the Retrograde Division. In the summer of 1972, Jack rotated back to the U.S. and was stationed at Ft. Campbell (KY) and Ft. Sill (OK) before retiring in 1980 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Interview conducted by Richard B. (USA) Paula D. Wright, who served as "Paul D. Wright," was born in 1950 in Lubbock TX. She graduated from Coronado High School in Lubbock in 1969, and volunteered for the US Army. After advanced training in helicopter maintenance at Ft Rucker AL, she arrived in Vietnam in January 1970. During her first tour she served with the 240th and 173rd Assault Helicopter Companies. After additional service in the US, she entered a second tour in Vietnam, serving with the 159th and 229th Assault Helicopter Companies between August 1971 and June 1972. Paula is active with the Transgender American Veterans Association.
