Description:
Howard S. Hirsch was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1935. He was drafted into the United States Army in September 1967 and served a tour of duty in Vietnam as a doctor with the 12th Evacuation Hospital in Cu Chi from September 1968 to September 1969. Hirsch received a Bronze Star during his tour of duty and was discharged with the rank of Major following its conclusion.
