Summary - Various stages of Operation Vernon Lakes, hase I, in the Song Ve Valley, RVN. Operation conducted by 11th Light Infantry Brigade of the Americal (23rd Infantry) Division. Photographers accompanied troops on choppers to LZ Bulldog, which was to become the northern Fire Support Base for the operation. All firing is being done by B Battery, 6/11th Artillery, 11th Infantry Brigade. The security that accompanied the artillery in establishing FSB Bulldog was the CO of 3/1 11th Infantry Brigade. FSB Bulldog was also site of the Battallion TOC (Tactical Operations Center).
