Action shot taken as the Palace Guards fired 50 and 30 cal machine guns on the demonstrators. When smoke cleared, scores of dead and wounded littered the street of Thong Nhat on the early Sunday morning of November. Author was caught in crossfire but got out with only blood stains on his shirt. Sign reads "Down with the Family Rule of Ngo Dinh Diem."
