Vietnam Archive Student Assistant Receives President’s Congressional Intern Scholarship

Stephanie Elias, a Student Assistant with the Vietnam Archive for over a year, has received the Texas Tech University President’s Congressional Intern Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to six students each year and allows students to travel to Washington, D.C. to learn firsthand how federal policy is formulated in our nation’s capital. Stephanie is the second Vietnam Archive student to receive this award.

Virtual Vietnam Archive Update

The Virtual Vietnam Archive is entering its second year and has received a great response from the public. Currently, there are 376,277 document pages in the virtual archive, and over 50,000 images available online, with more being added daily.

Oral History Project Update

The Vietnam Archive has hired a second full-time oral historian to work in the Oral History Project. Dr. Richard Verrone is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and Texas Tech University. His dissertation focused on the American policy in Laos during the Vietnam War.
