Scope & Content:

  • Project CHECO was begun in 1962 under the direction of the Air Force chief of staff to compile, document, analyze, and report on a timely basis the new tactics, forces, techniques, materials and methods being employed by the Air Force in Southeast Asia. The collection consists of 232 reports covering all major Air Force Operations during the Vietnam Conflict. These reports were produced from documentation at hand during the war and were the primary documents employed by the Air Force to evaluate its effectiveness in Vietnam. Please note that the Vietnam Archive owns one complete set of the microfilm for this collection (DS557.4 .C67) located in the basement of the Main Library.
