Scope & Content:

  • Videotape created by Robert Horn using recently declassified sources documents Operation Swordfish, circa 1962, the first and only live firing of an ASROC armed nuclear depth charge and its subsurface detonation. The tape contains film shot from the USS Anderson, one of the few ships allowed close to the detonation. The tape also includes aerial photos showing the flight, entry, explosion, mushroom lume, and base surge of the detonation.
