Michael Walsh was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1948 and volunteered for the United States Navy in 1967. Walsh served aboard the USS Boston (CA-69) and USS Fiske (DD-842) between 1967-1971 and held the rank of Boatswain's Mate Third Class. He was discharged from the Navy in 1971.
