Scope & Content:

  • List of members and statements from Kenneth Risley's Mortar Squad and Platoon from Company D, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry, 1st Air Cavalry Division from 15 November 1965. The collection also contains a diagram of the fire mission used by Risley in support of Company B, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry on the morning of 16 November 1965.

Biographical Note:

  • Sergeant Kenneth C. Risley was the third mortar gunner for Company D, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry during the Ia Drang campaign of November 1965.
