Scope & Content:

  • Approximately one and a half linear feet of artifacts, photographs, and escape and evasion maps document Lt. Col. Richard L. "Dick" Baird's service as a pilot in the United States Air Force from March 1968 to March 1969. All materials date from the war era and are in fair to good condition.

Biographical Note:

  • Richard Baird graduated from Texas Tech University in 1955. He served in the United States Air Force as a C-7A Caribou pilot with the 457th Tactical Airlift Squadron, 483rd Tactical Transportation Wing from March 1968 to March 1969.
