Approximately one and a half linear feet of artifacts, photographs, and escape and evasion maps document Lt. Col. Richard L. "Dick" Baird's service as a pilot in the United States Air Force from March 1968 to March 1969. All materials date from the war era and are in fair to good condition.

Richard Baird graduated from Texas Tech University in 1955. He served in the United States Air Force as a C-7A Caribou pilot with the 457th Tactical Airlift Squadron, 483rd Tactical Transportation Wing from March 1968 to March 1969.
