Scope & Content:

  • Less than one linear foot of slides, photographs, military administrative documents, clippings, and recollections document Robert Arnau's tour of duty with the 21st Special Operations Squadron, 1969-1970. The materials date from the war era.

Biographical Note:

  • Robert Arnau was assigned to the 21st Special Operations Squadron, 56th Special Operations Wing in March of 1969 to February 1970. He was stationed at Nakon Phanom Air Base in Thailand. Arnau piloted CH-3 helicopters in support of Special Operations along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. He also instituted and carried out a personal special operation known as Operation "Candy Drop".
