  • Stinger 28 cockpit combat recordings donated to the Vietnam Archive by Richard Ring.

Biographical Note:

  • Richard E. Ring was born in Watertown, South Dakota in 1928. He volunteered in the United States Air Force in 1951 and served several short TDY stints in Thailand and Vietnam, stationed at NKP and Bien Hoa, respectively. He earned a Bronze Star and Vietnam Service Medal for his service in Southeast Asia and retired as a Colonel in 1978.
