Scope & Content:

  • Short story and printed photographs discuss Ervin J. Fischer, Jr.'s experiences as part of a C-130 crew during the Tet Offensive and the siege of Khe Sanh in 1968.

Biographical Note:

  • Mr. Ervin Fischer was born January 1945 in Breckenridge, Texas. He volunteered for the United States Air Force in 1965 and served for 6 years. Mr. Fischer served for 2 years in SOutheast Asia as a Loadmaster onboard C-130 Aircraft. He served with the 347th Troop Carrier Squadron from 1965-1967, and the 772nd Troop Carier Squadron from 1967-1968. He held the rank of Seargent throughout his service and was discharged in 1971.
