Biographical Note:

  • Dan Decker enlisted in the United States Air Force at age 19. He attended basic training at Lackland Air Force Base and advanced training at Keesler Air Force Base. In January 1970 he was assigned to the 432nd Aviation Maintenance Squadron, which was deployed at Udorn, Thailand to service the 555 TFS and 13th TFS. While there Decker serviced the inertial navigational systems on the assigned F-4 Phantoms. While serving in Southeast Asia, Staff Sergeant Decker was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnamese Gallantry Cross.
