(USA) Vern W. Greunke, originally from Fremont, Nebraska served in the U.S. Army from 1965 until 1969. He went to South Vietnam in August 1966 as a member of the Army Security Agency and was stationed at Pleiku with the 330th Radio Research Company (RRC). Vern spent most of his tour near Cu Chi TDY with the 372nd RRC, 303rd Radio Research Battalion. Stationed at MACV advisory posts surrounding the Iron Triangle, he was a Radio Direction Finding Specialist, tracking and locating the enemy with short range radio receivers and directional antennae until he left Vietnam in August 1967.
