Description:
(USA) Janice J. Carney was born (as John) in Cambridge MA and enlisted in the US Army in 1969. After training at Ft Dix NJ, Ft Sam Houston TX, and Ft Polk LA, Janice arrived in Vietnam in July 1970. She was originally assigned to the 666th Transportation Corps near Phu Bai, but moved the the 39th Transportation Bn, becoming the battalion mail clerk and courier. She participated in Lam Son 719, and spent time at FSB Vandergrift. After returning from Vietnam, Janice remained in the Reserves and National Guard for several years. She is active in the Trangender American Veterans Association.
