Just Like the Big Boys: ; US and Vietnamese Navy river patrol boats (PBRs) provide a screening force for USS Okanogan (APA-220) as she brings 1,500 Royal Thai Army volunteer troops up the Long Tao shipping channel to Saigon. The PBRs and Navy Seawolf helicopters screened the ship from possible Viet Cong rocket attacks during its transit of the Rung Sat Special Zone, long known as the "Forrest of Assassins."
