Nha Trang Air Training Center, South Vietnam: ; ; South Vietnam's Armed Forces use 25 formal schools and 37 training centers to teach 335,000 men each year. One important training base is the Air Force Training Center in Nha Trang, established to supply qualified personnel for the expanding Vietnamese Air Force. Besides basic officer training, the center claims several schools unique in Vietnam: the communications-electronics school, the technical-maintenance school, and the flight-training school. ; The communications school has trained almost 1,000 specialists in maintenance and operation of airborne-radio, navigation-radar, teletype and telephone systems. Some courses are as long as 45 weeks. The technical-school classes range from conventional aircraft engine mechanics to jet-hydraulics systems.
