Description:
Brig. Gen. Thomas V. Draude (USMC, ret.) discusses his experiences as a three-tour veteran of the Vietnam War. Draude served with 3rd Platoon, D Company, 1/3 Marines around DaNang in 1964, and later served with the 3/7 Marines as commander of a rifle company. Draude returned to Vietnam in 1969 and served with the Marine Advisory Unit as an advisor to the 5th Vietnamese Marine Battalion in the Mekong Delta area, as well as during the Cambodian Incursion in 1970. Draude served in numerous other capacities in the Marine Corps throughout his career, including serving as Assistant Division Commander of the 1st Marine Division during Operation Desert Storm.
