  • Richard B. Wright was born on April 13, 1949, and grew up in Littlefield, Texas. He began his studies at Texas Tech in 1967 and was active in the Tech Accounting Society. He went to Vietnam in September of 1970, and served as a combat medic in E Troop, 1st Cavalry of the Americal Division. He was based in Chu Lai, but operated throughout the I Corps area. While in Vietnam, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Medical Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, and Army CommendationMedal. He returned home in September of 1971 and returned to his studies at TTU, graduating in the summer of 1973 with a BBA in Accounting. He is married to Mary A. Wright and has three children: Mark Wright, Michael Wright, and Jason Wright.
