Browser Incompatibility

Some newer pages of The Vietnam Center and Sam Johnson Vietnam Archive website do not function properly with certain or older browsers. These include, but may not be limited to, all versions of Opera, Netscape Navigator 4 and lower, and Internet Explorer 5 or lower. If you are using version 4 of Netscape or Internet Explorer, we urge you to upgrade to the newest version possible. Not only will you be able to enjoy the new features and capabilities of our improved site, but the newer browsers also have tighter security, protecting you, your computer, and all the confidential and personal information it contains.

New Browsers

As new are released, we will test our site on the new browser, and once satisfied with the compatibility, make these pages available for us with those browsers. This process can be time-consuming, so if the page you are trying to access is not available with your current browser is not available, please check back in a few months.

Mac users

All Vietnam Center and Archive pages, including Virtual Vietnam Archive search pages, are fully functional using most versions of the Safari web browser developed by Apple. We suggest using Safari when visiting our site. A number of Virtual Vietnam Archive pages do not function properly in Internet Explorer 5.2.3. Therefore users are redirected to older versions of our pages, when available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will strive to make future versions of our site completely compatible with Internet Explorer for Mac, as well as the many other browsers that are available. Please note that Microsoft will no longer be developing Internet Explorer for Mac (more information), so we recommend the use of Safari.
